About Couples Therapy
I work with couples at all stages, from those just starting out together to those who have been together for many years, including couples who are trying to decide whether to stay in their relationship. I welcome couples of all backgrounds, orientations, and relationship styles.
My primary approach is the Gottman Method, one of the most research-backed frameworks in couples therapy, combined with elements of other evidence-based approaches. And if neurodiversity is part of your relationship dynamic, I have specialized training and years of experience addressing it directly, honestly, and without blame.
In couples therapy with me, you will examine what you each really want and need, and discover new ways to define who you are in relation to one another. We’ll also go even deeper, and look at some of the dreams and beliefs that might be underneath some of these wants and needs.
The truth is, all couples have conflicts. What makes a relationship sustainable is not whether or not there is conflict, but how a couple deals with it. Couples who work with me learn to understand what’s going on underneath the conflict AND learn tools to handle conflict in the moment.

Weekly therapy sessions take place over Zoom, from the comfort of your own space. Sessions are 50 minutes, and I occasionally offer longer sessions when needed. I work with couples across California. Ideally both partners join from the same location, though a three-way Zoom call works when that isn't possible. I ask for a commitment of at least six months, so you have enough time to learn, practice, and genuinely integrate the skills we work on together.

For couples who want to make concentrated progress in a shorter time, I offer in-person intensive retreats in Oakland, CA. Each intensive is private and completely customized to your relationship's unique needs, and can be structured as a half-day, full day, or full weekend depending on what works best for you.
This format works especially well for couples who have difficulty fitting weekly sessions into their schedules, or who simply want to do focused, immersive work together. Follow-up sessions are available after your intensive as needed.

I design and facilitate customized small-group workshops for couples, drawing on Gottman Method principles. Topics include communication, conflict management, and building deeper connection. Workshops are available online and in person, and are tailored to the needs and goals of your group.

I offer consultation to therapists and other mental health professionals who are working with neurodiverse couples, or who want to develop their skills in this area.
Consultation can cover a range of topics, including specific cases, general clinical approaches to working with neurodiverse couples, and therapy business practices. I work with individual therapists as well as small groups, and am available for one-time or ongoing consultation.
